DroneRover vs. Ground Detectors
DroneRover covers terrain that would take hours to walk in minutes. It is designed for professionals and serious prospectors who need to survey large areas. It detects both metallic and non-metallic buried objects. You need a DJI Phantom 4 Advanced drone to use it (drone sold separately).
Ground detectors (GoldHunter and the handheld range) are for targeted searching in a specific location. They are portable, require no drone, and give you immediate feedback on what is below your feet.
GoldHunter vs. Handheld Detectors
GoldHunter has audio detection (beeps when it finds metal) and uses VLF technology at 19 kHz — excellent for gold, coins, and small metallic objects. The GoldHunter app is iOS only.
Handheld detectors (TreasureHunter, GoldenEye, GoldenEye Plus, TreasureLight) use 3D magnetic sensing without audio. They build a colour-coded 3D map of the ground as you scan. The Visualizer app works on both iOS and Android.
